An Austrian and Beijing based design firm called Pends has come up with this incredible design for a new tower in Toronto. Filled with trees that are on cantilevered balconies, the design looks like it could be a very complex building to build out off any material, however they are proposing a CLT structure. Timber cladding covers the external facade which would have to be deemed as non-combustible. If they can get this one passed, then it will be one of the most spectacular buildings in the world.
